Chuck Schulz could have drawn Snoopy to be in the plane he was imagining. After all, Chuck drew the real bullets and the flying. But, the audience remains one step removed, watching Snoopy's doghouse stand-in for the plane. We see an example of how to pretend, Snoopy teaching us one way to play.
