Came across a cache of these games today in Barnes & Noble. I haven't played any of them, so I can't comment, but the aesthetics are clearly....so hot right now. Lastly, perhaps the most popular of these types of games is one I didn't see on the shelves today, Puerto Rico.
Along the same lines, I recently played a fun game called ticket to ride that has a nice organic growth of the board throughout the game.
